Brela is famous for its beautiful and untouched nature, a beauty that is undisturbed by the town’s top quality tourism industry.
This small town in central Dalmatia on the Makarska Riviera is home to two Croatian landmarks: the Brela Stone and Punta rata Beach.
The Brela Stone looks like a miniature island close to the coast.
Punta rata Beach is one of the most beautiful Croatian beaches. Punta rata Beach was included by the US Forbes magazine amongst the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, taking sixth place, and was number one among European beaches.
Punta rata Beach has a Blue Flag certificate, awarded to beaches and areas of sea which meet the highest ecological standards.
The beach is well-equipped with showers, deck chairs and umbrellas. The beach is easily accessible and is perfect for children.
The Punta rata Restaurant and Bar are close to this Brela pebble beach, as is Maestral Snack Bar.
At the beach you can enjoy jet skiing, paragliding, renting a pedal boat or kayaking and much more.
Punta rata is a pebble beach, which makes it perfect for families with children. It is well-equipped and offers deck chairs, umbrellas and showers.
The beaches in Brela and its surroundings are among the most beautiful beaches in Dalmatia. Apart from Punta rata Beach, we recommend that you also visit:
Vruja Beach is located north of Brela at the foot of high, steep cliffs.
The most convenient way to reach it is via a rental boat. You can enjoy the peace and intimacy of pristine nature on this secluded and exotic beach – it is a favourite amongst nudists and nature lovers.
There is also a spring running down from Mt Biokovo, which makes the sea cooler and cleaner than anywhere else on the Makarska Riviera. There is also a cave which is a challenge even for experienced divers.
There is one more beautiful beach in Brela, located right in front of the Bluesun Berulia Hotel – Berulia.
Most of Berulia Beach is in the shade of a pine forest, which makes it a favourite for families with small children. Berulia Beach is also an excellent choice if you have older children because it offers many entertainment activities. If you would like to have a summer lunch with your family, we recommend that you visit Puž Snack Bar, which is located right next to Berulia Beach and has magnificent sea views.
Berulia Beach is a fully-equipped pebble beach with showers, dressing cabins and toilets. Disabled people also have access to Berulia Beach.
Berulia Beach boasts a Blue Flag, the national certificate awarded to beaches which meet high ecologic standards.
Brela is located right underneath Biokovo Nature Park, which we recommend you visit during a daytrip.
